Joining us
Singing is good fun and we're always on the lookout for new members! If you'd like to join, take a look below to see what the choir is like...
What you can expect
When you join the Nottingham Boys Choir, you will what is known as a 'Probationer'. You and the other probationers will learn how to read musical notes, how to use your voice to sing well, and work with the other boys in the choir.
You practice once a week, on Wednesday evenings. When you join the main choir, they practice on Wednesdays too. In the main choir you will sing in lots of performances, maybe appear on CDs, perhaps even do a solo or two, but you will definitely make lots of new mates.
Mr Overbury teaches you - and the other lads will give you hand at first. There are awards to work for: special medals with different-coloured ribbons. Each colour means something different. Head choristers wear red.
We do other things too, like bowling and Laserquest! We've been to the Climbing Centre in Nottingham and the 'Magna' Science Centre in Sheffield. Sometimes we get invited to sing in concerts quite far away, which is cool.
So - why don't you try one of our fun Open Evenings? We'd like to meet you!
